Track times like that are easily met with a 3rd gen we do it N/A you use nawz.

Most 3rd gens will drive right through that 5k redline, who needs a screamer when you have no place to go that fast without looseing your driving rights.

As far as pics of speedometers go, with todays readily available software technology one can EASILY alter a picture. It took me all of 5 minutes to alter this one, if I took my time I could make it convincing. I not disputing anything here, I just wanted to point out that photochop can fool alot of people. Hell you could take a pic of a Yugo dash and give it lambourghini type performance...

Not to rain on everyone's parade, but yes civic's can pull 12's 13's with a whole different more powerful engine.

Civic's weigh 1600 lbs, stripped and with new engine.

It doesn't take a lot to run those times when there's less weight to pull. A few of us have personally seen these small cars run well.

New technology, more efficiency, less weight gives a fast time.

We're talking a span of 15 years on some technologies.

See what happens when you take these new tech and put it on small blocks and you get the power adder board.

There are quite a few car's there breaking 10's...

 

Slade, you find me a 1600lb Civic street car. There is not quite a few Civic street cars breaking 10's. We have one of the nastiest Civics in Ontario here in Ottawa. It's a full weight car that runs low 11's. If he could even come close to hooking it up he'd run 10's but he can't.

Actually it's a pretty common sound every summer, when someone is out clearing the weeds.

My GTA redlines at around 4500 if I remember correctly (although I'm probably confusing it with my truck). How's that pathetic? It'd have enough torque to rip your little hampster wheel to shreds. Anyone can spin up a rubber band my friend... Spin it to tight and it snaps. There's a day to look forward to.

As I said, it's entirely possible to get a civic into the 11s. It's just as realistic for me to do so with my little 4wd Jimmy. Of course, I don't intend to throw that much money at something that's not designed for performance.
