dose anyone know where to cut the hole in the floor for the shifter?
I looked on the tech bord and found out how to do it with the engine and bell housing in the car. but I don't have eather of these in my car. so if someone has pics or instructions on how to do this please post.

look where the shifter gores on the tranny and drill 4 holes in the floor about 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch from the mshifter mount on the tranny. When you have the holes drilled just cut from hole to hole and that is your square. Check the clearance for the shifter. Anymore questions just ask me.

I don't have the transmission in the car, is there any other way. Like taking a measurement from another point on the floor or somewhere else???

The easiest way is with the tranny in the car but if you know someone with a 5 speed car just take the measurements from there.

What if I were to just bolt the trany up with out the engine, and jack up the front of the trany and mesure that way? If so is there a certain mesurement that I have to take? eg. mesure from the bell housing back and then drill 4 holes that way. if you could give me more info that would be awsome.

I bolted the tranny to the motor and where the square where you mount the shifter you drill the holes at those four corners. If you could find a 5 speed car just take the measurements from there.
