Hey IROCKER...aka Chris!
Remember awhile back I told you about my "hot start" problem. Well I think I have it solved (or at least I believe I do).
I pulled my injectors out when I stored my car along with my plenum. I sent the plenum off to Cruzin Performance to be flowed, tested, and repaired. Rich J. at Cruzin said that there was about 14% variance between my injectors and when he did the 80 psi pressure test a couple of my injectors were dripping.
Anyway...got my injectors back and while I was waiting for them to be serviced I got myself an AFPR and a fuel guage.
I installed it all yesterday and fired it up... set my rail pressure to 40 psi and she fired up...no problems. The big thing was that even after I shut her down the rail pressure sat at 38 psi for about 30 minutes then slowly backed down... after about 1 hour it was down to 25 psi... this is telling me that my injectors and fuel pressure regulator are holding the pressure.
Although I could not give it the real test (ie: drive until the car gets up to operating temp and then shut it off for 10 minutes or so) I think I am confident that I have the problem solved!!!
One question to everyone... in idle my pressure is set at 40 psi...when I revved her to about 2500 it shoots up to about 48 psi... this is normal..yes?

Hey Stan, I hope that you got it licked than! The jump in PSI while revving is normal so don't worry about that. Rich is a good guy, I'm glad you were happy with him. He did the high pressure test with mine as well and reported no dripping. And with the variance they were within 3%...so he basically told me I had an almost perfect set of injectors. My fuel pressure still drops like a stone in water though. My fuel pump is getting done in the spring.

Sounds like the fuel pump
My fuel pump was replaced about two years ago so it still holds the pressure really well... on start up after the pump winds up my pressure goes to approximately 38 psi... when idling I bumped it up to 40 psi.... car seems to like it...but I haven't run her under any kind of a load yet...but I'm sure she will be fine from what I saw yesterday.
Next thing is the braking system... and a bent side axle...
.. oh the joys of owning an abused 3rd gen
I have a list a mile long...hehehe
I was wondering... what was you 1/4 mile time last summer? I will be running my car at the track this upcoming summer and I was wondering where I will be roughly on the 1/4 mile (seeing that our cars are sorta similar)... all I will have is a set of SFC's and 1 5/8" headers when I hit the track... any ideas?
