As if I wasn't broke enough...
I went out and bought a pickup today.
1980 Chevy 1/2 Ton
Orange Metallic (and a bit of rust to match)
305 carbed
It's gonna require a bit of work to fix up for the safety, but I'm not in a hurray. A friend of mine is gonna help me weld in two new cab mounts and weld a sheet of steel into the one hole in the floor. It needs a couple other things here and there, but shouldn't be to hard to safety. No e-test!
It will be a bit of a project, but it's only a secondary vehicle for hauling crap around so I won't be any where close as picky as I am with the IROC.
I should have a pics tommorrow.

Hey Chris, owning a truck is cool. Even my wife wants a truck. Now you can trailer your Camaro to the track events.

My wifes cousins live in Calgary, Tilley, Drumheller, Medicine Hat and Rosedale. We went out there last summer to visit everyone. We were actually there during the freak snow storm between Edmonton and Calgary August 2nd. I had posted it here while I was still out there.
Sorry Chris, I'm not trying to hijack your thread.
I see it's a carbed 305. It won't be long before you start to mod that "boat anchor" lol

Nice!!! love that truck Chris!
Only problem I have found with pickups in the past is that everyone asks you to move their $hit for them! Regardless it looks good, I would have no problem driving that!

Actually Daz, the bed is in pretty solid condition. Can't see myself replacing that anytime soon. Now I wish the cab was in the same shape.
1FSTGTA: Oval? Do you mean the headlights?
Tanager: Thanks dude...actually I was the guy asking all my friend to haul my crap around...I got tired of asking for favours so that's why I bought my own.

Kevin: Spruce Grove is still a nice, quiet little city, in case you were wondering how it's doing.
Kev: Southern Alberta folk, huh? They're a different sort, but good people.
I believe Drumheller was (a couple of years ago) voted by Mcleans mag the best place to live in Canada.
BTW, IROCKER, don't bother replacing any of the body parts.
My old boss gave me this idea. His Chev truck was a frame, engine, most of a cab, most of a box, and 1.5 fenders last time I saw it. It was one scary looking ****. No grill, no bumpers, no hood, made people think twice about aggresively merging!
haha...unfortunately the hole in the floor will have to be fixed for the safety. Otherwise I'm not in a hurray to replace any of the other parts.
As far as I know, the last year for the round headlights was 1980. After 1980 they went to the square-style.

Dennis: It will fit, but it's a little to much work for right now. I gotta get her running and safetied first and foremost. Once that's outta the way then I can get back to working on the Camaro.
not a problem Chris - I suspect Ill have it for a while, Im not actually making any effort to sell it - BUT, if you one day want them - keep me in mind and if i still have them - you wont beat the price - seriously . . .

A C-10? Right on, my brother has a late 70's C-10 rotting away up north. Great ol clunkers.
My brother misjudged his turn radius at the gas pumps and managed to take off the whole passenger side of the bed against one of the concrete pillars, from the back of the door to the bumper. I still don't know why he kept going after it first hit... lol That was a big nail in it's coffin.
A big ol 305, little dinky carb, sound familiar?
