Brad's note...

If this gets deleted or locked for none technical content, then no prob, I understand.

All I can say is WOW! That's harsh...only tech based content and only tech content relating to 3rd Gens. Ouch...that's really gonna slow down this section of the board for sure. I think it's a little unfair, but it's their server and their site. Thems the rules I guess.

Johny and Paul...I guess you got your work cut out for ya.

Yeah, so much for meeting new people and establishing a sense of community...

Does anyone here have webspace that they could host the Ontario forum? We could have it linked off the main 3rdgen site and get the same code and 'look and feel' going.

I'll have some in a few months, but this place may be dead by then

I appreciate the endorsement Keiran, but I think it would be more useful to propagate the thirdgen site. It has a bigger name, deeper exposure and we'll bring more fbody enthusiasts into the light.

The regional boards are great for their purpose, but at in the case of KWF, it's just that, a regional board. Our mission was to bring K/W and area fbody nuts to one place.

I think its natural for regional clubs to spring up when we get so many people in touch with oneanother, but we can't forget what brought all those people out in the first place. Board like Ontario Thirdgen(Thirdgen.org).

Like I said i would be happy to lend some space when i get my domain up and running...but that won't be until march.

What do you guys think?

I dont think this totally applies to the regional boards. we are left too run the board ourselves and no one ever bugs us about the content.

Paul: That's exactly what I thought the regional boards are for, but Brad's note is not specific to any board, just a blanket statement. As for the Tech boards, I always keep to technical content and I don't think I've ever posted about anything other that 3rd Gens, so I'm not too worried.

When you make an anouncement there is a option to post it on every board. I think Brad done that so he would not have to pick each tech board individually.

Thanks for the mention of Mark's site, Keiran.

I'd have to agree with Paul and IROCKER. I don't think posting rules for us are going to change radically.

I think that Brad is trying to bring some order to the melee that is the Appearance board, mostly. But, have you ever noticed that all his posts where he locks something, he always adds in a snide comment? I think somebody might be just a little insecure. I guess if it helps his insecurity by talking to all members like peons, then so be it. Not much we can do!

Yeah, that note did seem harsh, butI think the regional boards get a little slack from that, sure you can't still do the same dumb non tech BS,but talking about things other than 3rdgens I think would be allowed. I mean come on, what else would a regional board be good for? not much, sure you can ask a few questions, but I think the regional boards should be given a little slack on things., but not letting things get out ofhand.

OK
So having read thru this thread, where do I go to get a 2nd gen VIN decoded?
Which of these new boards can help me out?
I'm thinking of bringing this wreck back to life I found out about. Any ideas? Here's the VIN 1Q87L8N583429.
Thanks,

Pacer

Mark,
Thanks, but that decoder won't work for a 2nd gen.
Any 2nd gen decoders anyone know of?
