Camaro almost rear-ended me...
On my way home from work down Highway 5 I noticed a black Camaro turning on from Trafalagar. Spotting f-bodies and 'vettes is almost an instinct, ever notice that? Anyway, I noticed because while waiting for his right hand turn he was way up on the curb. Moron, get down from there... Which he did, bouncing it down when the lane was clear.
Anyway, this idiots starts darting through traffic and winds up right on my butt (I'm in the Jimmy). The light in the next intersection changes and someone starts making a left infront of me so I have to slap it in neutral and jump on my brakes... With this idiot right on my tail. The look on the face of the guy in the van beside me told me that he was pretty damned close to my bumper. I couldn't even see him over my tailgate, he was that close.
So the light changes and this idiot squeaks between me and that van, darts past and jumps back infront. Hmm... One big tailpipe coming out of the left? What the hell? Doesn't sound like an 8... Damn thing is filthy too. It looked like some pimply-faced kid driving it, he wouldn't even look over at me. I'm not stupid enough to try and catch up; I wouldn't have even bothered in the GTA.
So he darts up the street, suddenly dropping to the speedlimit just behind and to the left of a police car. Gee, that doesn't look suspicious at all now does it? Idiot... No wonder us third gen guys generally have a bad reputation.
The point to this? Damned if I know... I just wanted to share.

My next daily driver/beater will be a Peterbuilt Conventional. They last forever and with long distance tanks I'd probably only have to fill it about once every six months; anyone runs into me, just go round to coin wash and hose them down the drain.

That's one good reason to keep the lil Jimmy around. "Go ahead and hit me, at least I'll be able to drive home. Just if you must, please hit the right rear, it needs a lot of rust repair anyway."
Can't say the same about mileage though, I was actually excited when I got almost 17MPG for one tank last month. lol
