Oil leak ...

I noticed an oil leak that seems to be coming from the manifold. Upon a closer look one of the bolts is missing. Is it possible for the oil to be coming thru the open bolt hole?? There doesn't seem to be another place where the leak could be coming from, so I'm hoping it's due to the lack of the missing bolt. Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated. Below is a pic where the bolt should be.

i am not 100% sure but i believe that is the EGR valve and a bolt does not go there unless you want to block it off?

Once again I might not know what I'm talking about

Last spring I had some engine work done. Mostly freshening up the engine, having seals and gaskets replaced.

When I finally got the car back, I noticed (after driving it for a few days) that a leak had sprung. A small puddle of oil was lying in one of the intake manifold nooks. It took my mechanic 2 tries before he finally stopped that leak.

The problem stemmed from one of the bolts that held the intake manifold down. The pressure of the engine was driving some oil up the bolt to the surface of the engine. The car is original, so the bolt was obviously defective from the factory, but the leak is no more.

I don't think that the lack of whatever it is that might have been attached to that little thread is the cause of your oil leak.

Let me affirm to you that you dont know what youre talking about and you are 100% wrong...lol j/k

That boss is not for the intake to head bolt..Its either for a clip that holds the harness or for a wire loom..What side is that?
