My 'bird's ALIVE!
Yeah, I know how that sounds.
I just finished installing my new distibutor (Thanks Daz!), my new cap/rotor, my new MSD plug leads (Thanks FlyinLow89!), e-time it, etc... And she's purring along like a, well, like a bird that purrs. That #8 plug wire was a bitch to install though. At one point my arm was crammed deep into my engine bay up to my shoulder, and I have pretty damned long arms. That completely put me off of installing the new plugs. Screw it, they can wait. Now to get it e-tested. <fingers crossed>
Oh and I just noticed that the neighbors put some scratches on my bumper over the winter. Dammit, if those don't buff out I won't be at all happy.
Anyway, I just wanted to publicly thank Daz for, well, for having a spare distributor when I killed mine (I broke the reluctor ring while trying to pry off a stuck rotor). Thankfully the only other maor problem was punching a hole in my fingernail. That didn't feel good at all.

Lol.. the plugs will be a lot of fun - 6 & 8 are sort of like a character building exercise.
On # 8 I have to disconnect the starter wires so I can get my fist in there from under the car.
About three weeks ago I ordered an SLP plug socket which is cut down and drilled out for header applications but it hasn't arrived yet from Zeke's.

The wire on #7 wasn't a walk in the park either...
Plus none of the new wires have straight boots on them, they're all angled. I'll have to keep an eye on them to make sure they're not hitting anything.

The only wires I can fit have the 90 degree boots.
Saw a really nice 2nd gen today and it had these sort of rails bolted to the lower edge of the rocker covers which held the wires in place.

Yeah - I should have mentioned that the 90s are with headers - the stock wires have a few different style boots on them.
So maybe you should get a set of headers on the car so that you can use wires with just one kind of boot on them. Lol..

[B]I made one..You can have it!!I just cut(grind) about a 1/4 inch off a regular plug socket.
Daz:
Thanks for the offer. I don't know if I'm going need it now as I was able to change all the plugs using a box end.
I was going cut a socket down like that until I saw that the SLP one is drilled through where the 3/8 drive fits in. That way they can cut the socket in half and it fits sort of like a ring on the plug. Only way to turn it is with a wrench.
Figured I'd need drill press to do that so I ended up just buying the socket. Probably try and cancell that on Monday o/wise I might be stuck with it.
Im going to try grinding a socket thinner so I can get it on the header bolts next. Have you tried that before - if so did it work.

I was using 3/8 grade 8 bolts and just use an open end.I never had a leak so I didnt care too much on how tight it was
