im shocked
i dont know if this belong in the bad shops forum but i needed to vent.
ok well i brought my car in to the shop to get the cat put on and a small modification done to my y-pipe....shop rate $75/hour..total bill $383.53 WTF is this man,
it dont take 3 or 4 hours to do that, i put on the muffler and the intermediate pipe myself and i was hopin to save money, i am feeling ripped off and was wondering if that seems normal to anyone?
Y-pipe was a hedman y-pipe and i had summit shorties so they didnt match, they had to cut off the 2 flanges and weld on the smaller reducers that came with the headers,
then install the cat that i bought and brought in...thats it i am so pi$$ed of man

Now I dont work in a muffler shop nor have I ever taken a car in for exhaust work but that seems like a pretty huge rip to me. $75/hr is fine for a 'GOOD' exhaust shop. How was the bill printed up? How many hours work and what did they charge for extra needed parts and gas?

ya man...that sounds like a good one up the you know what. I had my cat back put on and a some custom work to tie it inot the cat because it is a slightly smaller and that was like 100 bucks.....and I thought that was a bit much.
ouch, that hurts.....we would have done that for about $150.00!! you woulda saved bigtime, even with the drive down...(only 50 min)
