Canada vs. USA

Are the Canadian F-Body cars faster than American F-body cars. Check my profile, the diacom showed 912 volts on the O2 sensor and the engine was pinging on that run. TPIS is retuning the chip. It would probably run up to 112mph @ 12.20 on E.T. Streets. How much octane is in your gas?

Are Canadian f-bodies faster than their American counterparts? Generally No - but I guess it would depend on who's driving

Most Canadian f-bodies did not see the CCC carb/ECM setup until 1986/87 when the one-piece rear main seal blocks started being used (i.e. we still had 'older' style vacuum controlled distributors and plain-jane Q-Jets while you guys got saddled with the ECM/CCC setup from 1980/81 onward). This obviously doesn't apply to you- but may be relevant to some other people.

I notice you are in California- this may have something to do with your particular vehicle's performance as I'm sure you're aware- CA has always had the strictest polution controls and basically forced auto manufacturers to put any/all do-hicky pollution device(s) on a vehicle to make it legal for sale/roadworthy in CA- including, at times, different tuning specifications than for Federal or Export versions.

Gasoline octane in Canada is typically 87, 89, 91 with a couple of the chains also offering 93 and 94- in CA you are limited to 91 at the pumps (we had, until sometime in the last couple of years a couple of the majors carrying 92 instead of 91- but this has apparently disappeared). However- if looking to blame gasoline for issues- there is alot more to be said about the subject than just the standard (RON+MON)/2 derived octane rating- go to www.nastyz28.com/~ericf and click on tech documents for more info on gas than you probably want to know. One thing to note about gasoline is that it's blended and has different additive packages depending on where it's being sold which can/will affect how it runs/burns in engines/different engines.

Well 12.9 is pretty impressive but my friend ran 11.4 with his 355 in his old heavy 75 Formula so I am not sure what your gettting at? When u start adding mods its anyones ball game. But ya your faster then me with my 13.5 and 104.6mph on steet tires and stock suspension.

Well I guess in different countries most of the cars are faster than USA cars. In California back in the 80's the f-bodies average with a 350 TPI 15.10 to 14.70's depending on if the car has 2.77, 3.27 or 3.45 gears.

I assume thats because of all the polution junk, or the daily temperature there. I know my car runs like crap when its hot, hard to even get a low 14 out of it, but mods do help against that problem
