You can get an R1 for around 10,000 in really good condition. A turbo 300zx in good condition would go for about 25 - 30,000.

One or the other? hmmm lol

Ya ...I'd do it just to sell it . But I think it's hard to find tight and clean thirdgens with low Km's as welll .........

I'f it was just to keep the 300ZX ....NO WAY your car is a much better looking car .

On the Nissan reliability deal..

I bought an 84 4x4 with the z24 motor (8 plugs and a 4 cylinder dunno why the 8 plugs). Anyhow I bought it used, put rancho torsion bars on it, and proceeded to pound the hell out of it. I jumped it, rolled it revved it well past 7k, I had abused it for four years.. the motor gave out when I ran i out of oil in between towns with no where to get any ;(

I bought a brand new NIssan in 96' (4x4) I beat the one until I traded it in on my full size chevy. It lasted 7 years and never gave a hiccup, cept for the alternator belt got loose once. That's all I ever did to it.

They are low on the price range.. kinda used to be the cracker box of imports, but their internals and suspension last just as long as any other import...forever lol!

I had a 240sx biggest heap of **** I have ever owned 155,000kms the motor gave out.I went through 2 trannys in the 4 years I drove that heap. The car was never abused I would buy a chrysler product before I would ever go import again. As for trucks american is the way to go there is no way around it.

As for the value...a 300ZX TT is worth waaaaay more than your car. So right away you're the one coming ahead. You can't lose. As for the reliability, I have a Nissan as a daily driver and I have no complaints or regrets at all. Rust? Not a single sign of it after 5 years of service so far...and it has been driven year round in snow and all. I doubt the 300ZX has ever seen snow or salt. And insurance, you would have to call and get a quote. Because the car is slightly newer and has a higher book value, your insurance will go up slightly.

Didn't you just buy this car? you haven't owned it long enough to have any probs.Trade him and sell it but as somone else said you would be happyer with a import.Instead of polishing and TPI setup you can shine a big VTEC badge for 8 hours.Im north american I buy north american, but thats me my GTA has 400,000 on the clock right now everything original aside from brakes/tires and tuneups.I got it repainted last year.

I've had it for 6 months and it's got 148,000 on the odometer now...true not a long time, but long enough to know if it's a lemon. If you've got 400,000 on your GTA, than you've done very well...but I think that is an extreme case. I know there is no way, on my existing engine that I would ever get another 200,000+ out of it. And same with a lot of other f-bodies.

I can name over 20 f-bods off the top of my head that are nearing the 300,000 mark its not all that uncommon. As for maximas its a grocery getter with some kick people drive the **** out of f-bods and they still hold up.If I was to buy a daily I would go with GM somthing with the 3800.148,00OK is nothing not even enough time to tell anything and for all you know there could have been a stack of repair bills from the previous owner.

Approaching 200,000 and running like a clock and passing emissions. Too many powerslides, powershifts and burnouts to remember. : )

Whatever floats your boat man. Other than the Grand Prix with the 3800 (which is plagued with premature transmission failure BTW), the rest of GM's lineup in that class of car is boring, plain, borderline on ugly. I needed a large sedan and GM had nothing I was interested in. You really need to break out of your bubble, wake up and realize that GM is no longer the North American vehicle of choice...and there's plenty of good reasons for it. After my last new car GM experience, other than another f-body, I will most likely never buy another GM product.

GM is the number one car manufacturer in the world. They own most of the shares in import companys and keep america turning.BTW what exitement does import companys produce?? NOTHING. GM cough cough GTO........ If you love imports so much move to japan plain and simple.Your comming on a american car board and bashing american made cars. The import schene is full of fart cans and stickers maybe you should consider dropping your iroc for a prelude or civic. Its people like you that bashed the pontiac vibe but prasied the toyota version. So yes now we know just because it has import badgeing its better then everything else.Yeah right...

I still don't understand how anyone would be stupid enough to offer a MINT 30k 300ZX TT with spare engine and tons of mods for your car... He could buy two mint 92's for what that 300 plus addons is worth.

I've been nice so far, but I have to speak my mind now. You really need to wake up and look around you. GM might be the number one in assets and sales around the world, but that in no way, shape or form makes them the best in manufacturing or quality...which they are not. That is a fact.

And what excitement do import companies produce? Whole crap guy, you really need to leave your shelter life and join the rest of world population....I belong to many different cars boards, most that deal with all different makes and models...and I can assure you the there is no more (probably less) excitement for domestic cars as there is for imports. You really need to grow up and realize that there are other things going on in the world besides GM. Oh, and in case you haven't noticed Einstien...The GTO is not in Canada and will not for anytime in the near future...so what's there to get excited about now?!?

Yes I'm on an american car board and in fact if you took the time to look, you'll notice that I've been on here for over 2 years longer than you. I owned many GM cars in the past and still currently own one...that's why I'm still here, genius.

And when did I bash american cars in this thread? Not once...read before you type....

And yes I've commented negatively about the Vibe...why? Because it's UGLY!!!

Paul: You've been lucky man, and I hope it keeps up that way.

GM excitement? Nowadays? Give me a break. Only high performance sports vehicle in production... the vette.
Plain LS6, nothing new.

Lets see...

Dodge... SRT-4, the new Viper truck, the new Viper, various models, concept cars going into production, the new Charger...

Ford... holy Crap! How about we start with a newly designed 500hp small block that will be put into everything from a Lightning to the GT40. Lightning 500hp, Mustang up to 500hp option, and the GT40.

GM... Z06. This thing won't come close to compare if it doesn't go under some serious eng. redesign.

And remember, just cause the super import cars aren't here in canada, doesn't mean they're out of the game. I saw on TV they still make the Supra in Japan, it's ugly but it's fast. The Skyline, the NSX. Around here, WRX STI, Evolution,. In most people's price range right now... Mazda Speed protege, Sentra V spec.
With both the Maxima and the Altima running equally to better times than our own stock Thirdgens F-bodies did, I'd say that the import market is pulling they're own weight. Did I mention that they're both luxory sedans?

Anyways, 1fstGTA, you better bring some bigger bullets if your gonna run your mouth again. Having a high mileage thirdgen means nothing. The only thing that it means, is that it's slow.

1SLWGTA, please check your opinion at the door.

Thank you, come again.

Idiot ,thanks for the tip haha

Icocker. You forgot to mention the exitement that imports are pulling.BTW the GTO was never sold in canada not in the 70s,not now.Dosen't mean people wont bring them over.

who gives a **** if the new maxima runs better times,so do grand prixs.NOTHING new.The grand national does better times then my thirdgen its a V6 car oh **** i should get mad now

high milage means slow? haha ok there buddy.

It took you 3 days to come up with that response?!?

If you're brave enough to leave the comfort of your parents basement one of these days, you'll realize that there in plenty of excitement in all automotive scenes. Imports are restricted to the riced up Civics that everyone is accustomed to seeing.

Time to grow up and expand your horizons. Wake up and realize that GM is only a small part of the entire automotive world.

HEY, whats wrong with living in my parents basement?????????? but on a higher note,,,,, if the WRX was a little cheaper, i would of bought that hands down. took one out and almost bought one. i bought my fully loaded Z24 for 22000 out the door taxes and everything, brand new. so i couldn't pass it up. I like imports, WRX, freakin sweeeeet as s car. If this deal EASY's got on his hands, i wouldn't even have to think about it. If its runnig like new, 30000 miles, and all the extra, some one will buy that up for 25000-30000$ for sure garenteed. sell it, go look for a super low milage thirdgen. there was one here in Windsor last year. 4500 kms 91 burgandfy convertable tpi 5 speed. still had inspection marks on the undercarriage. leather no air ande it went to a guy in the states for 18000$ canadian. My Iroc is currently forsale, askin 5000$ saftied and e-tested. it passed e-test with flying colours. 172000kms.

Actually I don't live here so yeah....

lets see GM owns/has most shares of

SAAB
Saturn
VOLVO
ISUZU
suzuki
toyota

not to mention the new honda truck is supposed to feature a VORTEC GM engine.I could pile on the army divition GM has but we wont add that.So again GM takes up such a small part ,ummm yeah thats it

ford owns almost 100% of mazda

chrysler also own most of the mitsu shares.

So again were does that leave the import world?? OWNAGE

face it the only import comanys that are big are honda and toyota the rest are small time. There may even be more I haven't mentioned,i would also hate to break it to you but GM is number one when it comes to sales also. Then goes ford ,then toyota ,then chrysler. So stop talking smack.

Just because they are number one in sales, doesn't make them the best company.

This whole argument is growing old. I like all cars, both import and domestic, regardless of manufacturer. You like domestic only. Let's just leave it at that.

Get an Honda.

Stop with the GM nonsense. GM has more cars at the auto wreckers than any other manufacturer.

Or get an Acura.

1FSTGTA,

You are easily the most ignorant mother ****er on this board. Time after time you post complete and utter garbage. Stop wasting board space and fellow members valuable time with your obnoxious rants. Take all that rage you have pent up and run yourself into a concrete wall a few times. Make sure you have witnesses. I want an eye-witness account. If that doesn't cure you just slam a bottle of Toilet Duck. That'll fix you right up.

Don't you drive a Fiero? And you're calling "ownage"?
