Shift kit/tranny suggestions pls
Now that my shiny new rims are stored for next year i thought i'd buy something i could use right away. next on my list is a shift kit and maybe a coupla mods to the tranny while its apart. i think i have someone lined up to do the work but i need to know what shift kit works well for people. The car is an 87 formula with a 700r4 that seems solid enuf. Engine will one day be swapped out so may as well do tranny right 1st time for 350 TPI swap. I would like a nice hard shift but the car is a daily driver (winter too
) so a high stall may not be the best idea Any feedback before i setr up the work would be appreciated. Also prices if you know Thanks Tim

For shift kits I recomend the TransGo shift kit package from www.pro-built.net its probably the best package out there right now.
As for everything else, well, it all depends on how much $$$ you have.

i also have rebuilt the tranny with the B&M transkit with a 2500 B&M converter, with the shift kit and it kicked ***. third gear scratch on stock rear and engine. I guesss who ever does it really matters. alot of people say transgo but whatever. I was VERY happy with the results.

Every where i look i hear transgo so i guess a stage 2 kit with a gm torque convertor and new governor will do the trick. GM guy doing the work so he'll know compatible parts for higher stall and and better overall results. Thanks all
