Need fender....
I need a passenger side fender from somewhere in Ottawa, does anyone know how bad the reman. fenders really are? Should I just hit the junkyards or can I make a cheapy fit nice? GM wants 650.00+ for a new fender!! I almost died when he told me that. I also have to find a silver on black Z28 emblem for my rocker panel!! Please help me someone.

There's a big wrecking yard on HWY 31 south. It's where I got my fiberglass hood. The have a bunch of fenders and stuff in the back, you have to rummage through their piles though. But they're Somalian so you can get it for real cheap, or threaten immigration on their ***.

Holy crap!
If the GM dealer told you $650 for a fender, they're trying to screw you big time man!!!! (unless that includes paint & installation maybe) It should be at least half of that... I had to buy a fender a couple years back, and with my dad's GM discount, the fender cost me around $250... and I know the GM discount doesn't cut off THAT much of the price! Try a different GM dealer... I go to my local Pontiac dealer and I get great prices on parts (in fact they usually give me dealer cost which is even lower than the normal discount price)... however, most of the parts I've priced at the local Chevy dealership are usually ALOT more expensive! Go figure... same computer systems at the dealerships, same parts... different prices...

This was a Pontiac dealership, the guy quoted the price, then I laughed and hung up!! I could not beleive it. I would pay $250 for a new GM fender, but not $700!!!!! Thanks for the input 88.

Like I said, try calling a different dealership... I have gotten prices from the Chevy dealer that were twice the price for the same part as at the Pontiac dealer... I'd say either try calling another Pontiac dealer, or try calling the local Chevy dealer too... they're all GM dealers and can order any GM part, no matter if its Chevy or Pontiac. $700 is ridiculous for sure!
