Where can I buy a T5?

I just pulled the t5 outta the donor car, and one it needs a complete rebuild including input shaft, and 2 its a std one. Is there any place around that sells t5's, other then going to a junk yard and rolling the dice? Or am I better to go get this one rebuilt?

What about getting a TKO. Be the last tranny you'd have to buy for it.

Depends how much power your pushing, money you have to spend, and your driving habits.

If warranted, have a heavy duty rebuilt done, contrary to popular belief, TKO and G-force aren't the only places that do them reliably, those are just the two companies whored out on this site, just like Spohn and Hawk.

I know Fireball is 15mins from me and they've told me than can rebuild a T5 for around $1200, and warranty it against track use.

But if you don't plan to beat on it, I'd just get one from the wreckers, pay a tranny shop $250 to freshen it up. And be done with it.

I don't mean to highjack the thread , but do you have any specifics about the "Fireball" rebuild. I am curious as to what they do to the T-5, to provide a track use warranty - maybe you could pass along a tel #? - I'm going to be building my t5, and it seems only US tranny guys seem to know anything about an F-body T-5, mustang guys are everywhere it seems.... I guess Fireball is near the 614 (ottawa) area code?...

No hi jacking, I'm interested too. $1200 seems like an ok price for a rebuild let alone a garanteed one.

Yeah sure, area code 613.

I'm not sure what goes into the heavy duty build, but he said he's done a few before. And rebuilds T5's regularely.

With mine they pulled it apart, cause i broke the reverse pinion, put a new reverse pinion in, and all new sliders. All said and done it cost me $250, and it shifts nice and tight, no slop.

Gives us the info after you call, I haven't been there in years.
