This has been passed around since the late 90's. I even think there is a write up on snopes about it.

Not that long ago it was believed that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters would eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare as well as the shop manual for an 83 TA but now, thanks to the Internet, we know this is not true.

Has anyone calculated the real value of gasoline? Ie with inflation. We habe better gas prices now, compared to our cost of living than we did (or you did, I wasnt driving, or alive for most of it) inmost of the 70s and 80s. AND we have much more fuel efficient cars.

Anyway I think the only way to curb demand for gas and oil is to have a reasonably high price.

If you say that too loud, someone will make you disappear.

It has nothing to do with demand, we have no choice, if you want heat, hydro, transportation, and basically a normal way of living, you need fossil fuels.

People can take their hydrogen and solar powered pipe dreams and smoke it, cause it will never reliably support the demand for power that the world needs in this day and age.

I wonder what an independant crash test of a hydrogen vehicle would be after slamming it into a wall at 60mph. I'm guessing a bigger explosion than gasoline, even solid hydrogen is very explosive.
