Stealthram

Yay, my holley stealthram just arrived today. Now I'm gonna throw it on the bridgeport and mill the ribs off the top.

I think leaving the ribs on keeps it cooler. More surface area allows the heat to dissapate better. I would keep the ribs weld some more on and put a ram air hood on that allows cool air to pass over the stealth ram. Whatever you do the stealth ram will be cool.

You may be right, but I don't think the plenum on the stealthram has much to do with dispersing heat. They've already been reported to run much cooler than the original tpi setup (GMHTP article). I'm also going to take a look and see if I can machine up an adapter for the throttle body that will angle it down a little bit, maybe helping with the slight hood clearance problem that the birds have. I'm also going to machine my own fuel rails from blanks, so if any of you other Ontario members need some, let me know.

(cough) What egr issue?(cough). Actually I have an idea for incorporating an egr valve. Let me see how it works and then I'll post up the info.

I've never had a problem with visual inspection around here, the East Indian gentlemen that run the emissions testing station near me don't have a clue as to what they're looking at!

It's the roadside DOT schit that you have to worry about.

That's the beauty of living in the city that has the busiest border crossing in North America. They're too busy pulling truckers over. I've never seen them pull a passenger car over around here, the odd pick-up truck with an improperly loaded bed, but that's it.

They have roadside inspections here sometimes and they mainly check cars for emission equipment. They like to set up in front of events where there's going to be a lot of modified cars showing up.

not only at events but the MOT has a few spot check vehicles driving around....looks kinda like a police cruise (same graphics and such but with an orange stripe) and also its an exploder (explorer). i was lucky to get off with a warning but i played stupid (had new engine put in and "thought" it came with it) but still had to make the necessary changes or else they would have taken my plates the next time i was pulled over.
