How far should Igo with port work?
What should I tell the porting guy to do?
Any problem areas?
Mostly street and occasional strip use
Looking for 450-475 HP

Sportsman II's are EXTREMELY rough cast, extreeeeeemely.
Problem areas would be the whole thing, they're good heads, but for that to be realized you've got to grind out all the cast, smooth the combustion chamber, and make sure to gasket match the sportsmans to the super ram, I'd suggest a Felpro 1205

You shouldn't need to on the sprotsmans, they're 200cc intake runners, those are plenty good for a 383 if they're cleaned, with some bowl work. As far as the super ramn you can port the runners a tiny bit if you want, i wouldn't pay anybody to do it.
