How much are you looking to spend?
If you want a very nice tire, both looks and performance, for the price, Fuzion ZR is a good tire.
More money, there are some nice choices, but you gotta pay.

Love my Goodyear F1-D3's. Had them for 3 summers now, would buy them again. But they were in the pricey level of tires.
Thanks for the info guys...I priced out the tires that were suggested on here and they are all between 125-and 175 a tire or so...That is my price range...
How are your tires in wet weather, they get a good review but I did have trouble in the wet weather last year with my worn out front wheel BF's...So I do want to make sure whatever I buy is good in the rain...

Absolute best source for tire info and opinions - tirerack.com
You can type in your tire size, perfered type, and see many choices. You can even see ratings and read endless reviews. They have them ranked per catagory (best-worst) in many different conditions. Check it out, it may sway your choice. Picture of every tire too, so you can pick a tire you like the look of.

While I agree its a good resource take the reviews on there with a grain of salt. I bought the GSD3's based on the reviews on that site and I was COMPLETELY disapointed. I was running Yokohama A520's before which I loved there were incredible in every way I think a tire should be. The grip was outstanding and the wet weather traction was remarkable. To date I have never owned a set of tires that made such a dramatic difference in my Camaro and I've owned many third gens and ran many brands of tires. They were not faultless though they did wear fast and made some noise as they wore down.Originally Posted by Buddy

So back to tirerack... After I hooched the yok's i found that site and here the A520 ( no longer made ) at that time was ranked about tenth for a MAX PERFORMANCE summer only tire and the GSD3 was number 1. I was so pumped thinking wow if the yok is that poor compared to the Goodyears I couldn't wait to get them on my car. I was expecting a substantial gain and then???
I was so let down. $1500.00 bucks for tires I wouldn't have been happy with even if I didnt know how amazing the yok's were. The GSD3 is a major step back from the old Micheline Pilot Sport, the old Potenzas and in my opinion even worse than the GSC's which I didnt mind to be honest. The GSD3 is so far only good in two areas as far as I'm concerned. 1. they are as good in the wet as they are in the dry this I will say about them. They are not however as good as other tires I mentioned above in the wet. 2. They just do not seem to be wearing AT ALL I already have the same miles on them I did with my yok's and they still look like new.
Otherwise? They are the worst handling/cornering tire i have EVER had on my car. Worse than BFG Comp TA's for crying out loud. A garbage tire for cornering as far as I'm concerned. Price??? RIP OFFFFFFFFF these are so overpriced its not funny I could have purchased ANY tire for the money these cost. I wrote Goodyear the day I bought them in disgust. I tried returning them but due to the massive size i had to special order so I was stuck. no help any which way.
Now if you dont care for performance and you just lolly gag around and want a good wearing tire sure their fine. But not for that price you can get a better tire waaaaay cheaper. Its a real shame they stopped making the A520 the AVS sports just dont seem to have the same feel ( Friends car has em ) I think I'll go back to the Micheline Pilot Sport next time. They are not the best straight line traction tires out there but they sure do corner nicely and wear great. Better than any tires I;ve ever owned they just go hard after five years they dont really wear out.
Right now the yok ES100 is a solid performing tire thats a good price. The Kuhmo Exta whatever aint bad either.
Clearly you can see how pissed I am about these crapyears but treat tirerack with caution I dont trust that site at all anymore. Good luck whatever you choose!
I've got Firestone SZ50 EP's on the front of the IROC, I used to run them on the back before just giving up and leaving on the BFG drag radials. They are good tires, good traction for the size and good in the wet. The actual tread pattern/contact patch is narrower then other 245/50-16's though. I don't know about high mileage wear as the car doesn't get driven enough anymore.
I'd get them again if I didn't want to put down too much power...

Wow, I'm surprised of your Goodyear experience. I found them WORLDS above the GS-C's. And you seem to have the opposite problem of everyone - including me - They'er wearing quickly. A very soft rubber.
Maybe you got a bad set - I have heard of this, it does happen. I bought my old GS-C's from a guy who worked at the Napanee plant that made them, he educated me a bit.
I feel bad for your experience with them, especially since I love mine so much. I will admit the Pilot Sports are a pretty badass tire too though.

I almost without exception ( trucks aside ) buy new tires in the spring and that goes for both the GSC's and the GSD3's. In both cases the tires were a very "new" tire they had not been out more than a year or two tops. If I got a bad batch then I wonder how its possible after three seasons the A520's I took off on the same day were so much better than brand spanking new GSD3's? Thats what blows my mind.

Yeah, I don't know what to say, maybe just a bad run??? I do love mine though. If I were to buy anything other than them, it would be the Pilots. But I know where your coming from also - once bitten.....

I've put Kumho's on the R/T the last 2 times I've boughten tires for it. I find they are a wicked tire, especially for under $100 each. They last about 3 summers, but I pound them as well, and the R/T eats the sidewalls up too, otherwise they'd last alot longer.

I should also note that with respect to cornering once the GSD3 is loaded they do grip pretty well. Its the loading process and transitions where they are damn frightening. Very soft and sloppy sidewall makes for dangerous high speed maneuvering like quick lane changes etc. The whole car heaves around very unnerving.
I also think that if these tires were shaved they might work better and be less squirmy but i digress. Buy the Pilot Sports which are the same price ( cheaper at Costco ) and forget all about the GSD3
