T-tops

I have an 87 GTA with glass t-tops, Im interested in those lexan plastic t-tops.
Are they any good or worth getting?
Just thought of getting rid of some weight from the glass but I dont know whole lot about those tops, actually just learned that 89-92 had that option.

Re: T-tops

the glass ones are 100000000000 times better than the lexan ones, and the lexan ones are about, oh pretty much just as heavy, the weight savings is not worth getting lexan, i just paid WAY to much for a brand new in box set of glass tops for a 91z28, to replace my lexan ones, so i know the weight difference is not very much

Re: T-tops

well they are the BRAND new, have the install manual from gm in the box, are still bubble wrapped with the protective film on them, have new weather stripping with them, all they don't have is the lock cylinders, and they are in the original box from gm and are the large pin versions that were for 91/92 only i think? so i bought them more to leave on the shelf or use at shows one im done with my car, i paid WAY to much, it wasn't a grand, but it was more than 500 bucks. a used set is not worth ANYWHERE close to that

Re: T-tops

I was considering the plastic tops for teh track actually and Im affraid of dropping or breaking my glass ones, so even to have a spare.
Someone is selling it local for $200cdn in excellent condition but still little much I think.
I was wondering if they would allign with my setup, I remember a friend with 89 plastic tops that didnt click in like mine do because of the thicker clip it had.
Maby if the plastic around the clips were cut it would fit right.
BTW whats special about the Cars and Concepts Tops?

Re: T-tops

I have about 4 or 5 sets, maybe more, and I know another guy with probably another 2 sets, all 1990 or older. If you want to grab a spare set from me, message me in the spring. They are in storage right now.
