And she starts!!!...
And she starts!!!...
I finished installing my runners and plenum and TB this afternoon. Everything went together fairly smoothly, a couple nicks and scratches both on me and the runners but no biggie. And then came the moment of truth...hook up the battery and it cranked, but that's all it did. ****...what the?!? So I did a preliminary check and sure enough I forgot to pull in two injectors. Go to start it again and it started for about 1 second and then dead...*sigh*...what the?!? One of the symptoms of a start and stop immediately is vacuum leak...so I took a look around and bingo, forgot to hook up the brake booster line. Fingers crossed, I turn the key and wham-o...SHE'S ALIVE!!! I'm damn excited now! But she's running a little rough, so I check the fuel pressure and it's at 20PSI! Oh oh! So I reach in and adjust the new Holley FPR to 40 and it smooths out. Now I unplugged the battery and cleared the ECM...started it up again and smoother than the day I parked it...and NO CODES!!!
Well, I guess I must of done something right...I'm going back tommorrow to take it around the block and see how it fairs, check for leaks etc..
Just thought I would share...you have no idea how excited I was when she started the last time and ran smooth. I was a little worried after the first couple tries.

Monday...I'm hoping the weather's good so I can drive it there. I don't really want to pay for a tow if I can help it. Wooo hooo! Can't wait!
Hopefully I should have some pics posted by mid to end of next week.

I dropped you an email.
Well I took the car out of the garage today and drove it around the block!!! I just wanted to check for an fuel leaks and such while it was under load. Everything is solid so now the next step is the paint. Then some other goodies too, but I want to get it dynoed first before adding anything else.
I've got one problem though, now I got the itch!...When is the winter going to be over again?!?

My fear is that winter hasn't arrived yet. Can we say snow in May!This weather is killing me. I love the warm temps but you know you are only a few hours away from plunging back into the grips of Old Man Winter. Keeping the Iroc in the Garge all bundled up and resisting the urge to take it out on a little Illegal(no insurance) trip is tough.
I share your fear! This weather just seems waaaay too good to be true. It's been very easy on us...too easy!
I'm going to have insurance on it for just Monday...I hope the weather cooperates!?!
