F-body magazines
F-body magazines
Hey guys...upon cruising to the local Chapters, I have discovered that short of all the Corvette, Pontiac, Honda, Mopar, Mustang, and other assorted "make/model" specific magazines, I have yet to find any that are F-body related. I realize that GM High Tech Performance is probably the closest, but why not one dedicated to the American / Canadian icon? With all the hoopla of the "end" of the pony car - you would naturally think that there would have been something right?
If anyone out there does know of a publication, could you let me know?
Thanks!!

very nice T/A yourself...I have always admired that style of car, unfortunately I just don't like the look of them with the headlights on...oh well.
Do you know the name of the Camaro publication by chance?

Its called Camaro Performers and it's only put out once a year. It's a special thing done by the people at Super Chevy Magazine. It is mostly about first gen cars though.
hey thanks IROCKER...seeing pictures of your car posted in and around the net is what convinced me that white was the right colour to have....
Just another side note from the magazine issue...does anyone know where I can find a factory CD player for my 89?
Were the 89's ever available with a CD player?
I know the 91's and 92's had them...but the yellow lettering would be a dead give away that is not the "factory" option...
I have looked on e-bay and found a 92...but the last i looked it was $118.00 US - if I'm going to pay that much I will get a full faced Pioneer and have the new technology and better sound to back me up....
Just curious though...in case someone had one kicking around their garage or something...

Only 2597 Camaro's had the CD player in 1989 and since the 'Vette's CD player was different..........you may have trouble finding one. The RPO was U1C. I think GM only put CD players in Z34's , 'Vette's, and Camaro's in 1989.

You could try the ever popular and ever expensive Paradise Alley. You never know, they may surprise you...but I find on the whole they are roughly the same for what things go for on eBay.

Does Paradise Alley have a website? I may try even Year One and see what they can come up with too....
I appreciate all the info...what do you think about GM dealerships?
IROCKER - here's a question...you have been to the Camaro Nationals in June yes? Do they have a swap meet there too?

Yup, been in the Camaro Nationals the last two years in a row. No swap meet that I know of.
Year One will almost definately have it, but after brokerage fees and such, I would really question it's worth. Of course if you are trying to restore the car, then I could see it maybe being a justified expense.
GM dealerships...not a fan. My Sunfire only goes there because of the new car warranty. Personally I think you are better off finding a local (non-franchised) garage. I tend to find much better personalized service.
Oh and www.paradisealleyauto.com ...but not much on it, you'll have to call them.

that depends...are you a member of the law enforcement teams that are out cruising the streets late at night looking for guys like me running without plates?
If so, then no, the front plate only come of for photographic purposes.
If not, then yes, I am currently running my car without a plate on the front because the frame is broken and I have yet to replace it. Fortunately, to this day, I have not been advised by our local or regional officers that it should be on there...(knock on wood)
The plate will be returning in the spring when I pull the car out of storage...Karsten from up here knows what its like to not even be moving and not have his plate on his car...don't ya Karsten?
