Please help--can't remember how 2 hoses and a bracket hook up
Please help--can't remember how 2 hoses and a bracket hook up
Can you guys help me out on my 91 (it's so close to being back on the road!):
1) A pinky-purply wire and a grey wire go into a thing on a bracket. Two vacuum lines come out--a short one (EGR ?) and a long one. Both have 90* fittings/elbows at the ends.
What do they go to? What do the bracket attach to?
2) What is the thin black tube (maybe 1/2" long) coming out of the bottom of my TB on the driver's side? What does it connect to?
3) 3 wires (black, green, grey) go into a green connector that hooks up to a thing (MAP ?) on a bracket. From the thing, there is a short hose (maybe 3" long) with a line that goes into the farthest back threaded hole on the pass. side of the plenum.
What does the bracket attach to?--I'm stumped on the two bottom screws.
:hail: :hail: whoever can help me

sounds to me like you're talking about an EGR solenoid.
I believe normally there are to vacuum lines that connect to it (maybe 3?) one should go to the EGR valve itself, and another to the underside on the plenum near the front. the EGR solenoid I think mounts right by the ignition coil,- from the factory.
as for the rest of your problems, why not pick up a decent car maual for your ride? You'll find almost everything you need to know on your car specifically, because most different models and years have different vacuum routing ect...your questions are not very specific.

>What do they go to?
Right. The long hose connects to the underside of the TB, then tees off to that thin hose that you mentioned on the driver's side. That goes to the charcoal canister, as well as the bigger rubber-to-plastic line next to it. The short one goes to the EGR valve as already stated.
>What do the bracket attach to?
The EGR solenoid bracket sandwiches between the ignition coil bracket and the larger main bracket that bolts to two bolts on the intake manifold.
>From the thing, there is a short hose (maybe 3" long) with a line that goes into the farthest back threaded hole on the pass. side of the plenum.

That sounds like the MAP sensor. It mounts to the passenger side of the plenum in the gap between the runners and the distributor cover.
