Has any one though of closing off the bottom (to the lifter valley) then opening up the space under the runners so there is an air space/flow under the runners? Like the Edelbrock “Air Gap” intakes. From the pictures in the other post it looks like this would be the way to go with this intake.

Fabbing up a valley cover would be easier and cheaper and have the same effect for the most part. But yes if someone wanted, a plate could be welded and machined, then mill open the sides. Lot a work really. cheers, Bob
On the pics of the bottom It looks like there are 4 posts in the casting that would be ideal to drill and tap for small bolts to hold a splash guard in place. You'd still have some leakage around the edges but it should bring it back to the level of oil-heat-absorbtion-resistance that you have on other intakes.
