MAF Relay Terminals filled with gunk!!!

I recently ordered new MAF relays and when i went to put them in i noticed the plugs on the wiring harness were filled with this black gunk stuff. I have no idea where this could have come from and was just wondering if anyone else has ever had similar problem?

The plugs themselves dont look to healthy either, the one in front of the ESC has 1 of the 5 little connectors missing completely. I'm extremley confused, please help.

The "gunk" is an electronic "grease" that keeps moisture out.

It's whatever GM decided to use. I'd imagine it's dielectric gel. Every weatherpack connection on all 3 of my cars is packed with that stuff.
