Swapped fuel pump, ran for a few days, had to fix....
Ok so here is the deal, I swapped in a new fuel pump for the new motor in my car. It started after a bit of tweaking with the timing. I drove the car for 2 days but then pulled it back in the garage and dropped the tank again because the filler neck was leaking at the tank and the float wasn't reading anything so my guage read Empty all the time.
Dropped the tank and pulled out the whole sending unit again, Thought I fixed the float which was stuck under the sock on the bottom of the pump. I hooked it up and played with the float while someone watched the guage as it fluctuated. Good its fixed, "I thought....." So I get the JB Weld and shoved the filler neck back in the tank after I bolted it back on the car. Gooped that crap all around the filler neck and had a good seal. Threw in 3-3.5 gallons of 93 for my new higher compression motor and started it up. It ran really rough
and it would bog a little when I got on the gas then the RPM's would shoot up but really roughly. I checked the plugs for tightness and found a few were just a bit loose so I cranked them back in and they are all tight. Now it wouldn't start at all so I tweaked the timing a little bit and now it won't even run. AND THE GAS GUAGE DOESN"T WORK!!!
Any ideas?

Well, when you pull it out again this time (groan), while you're playing with the float, wiggle the wires coming out of the top of the sending unit assembly, the wires inside the tank, and the wires at the body connector while you watch the gauge.. It sounds a little like something is being fudged as the tank goes in.
