Does TPI require a certain distributor, I know I need a diff. style to work with the stealth ram I ordered, would this one work.

Does anyone have a part number of one I should get?

That won't work. Read the description! That distributer is designed to work with motors that gets its timing from a crank sensor. MSD makes a late-model HEI distributer without a vacuum advance, but I don't have the part number handy. If you open the summit catalog, it'll be listed separately from the other MSD distributers.

For the stealth ram, you're going to need to use an HEI distributer with an externally mounted coil. That MSD I talked about above is like that, but so are all f-body distributers from 88 and up. It would be a lot cheaper to just snag a used distributer from a late model Chevy. I think all the trucks and vans used the same type, so getting one out of a bone yard should be pretty easy.

thanx man, I appreciate the help, I think my last question will be about the EGR, but I'll post that later.
Any 88+ TBI/TPI distributor would prob. work, I got mine from a 88 TBI Camaro and it works fine. The wiring is the exact same colors, so it's just cut and splice. If you need the pigtails for the ign. mod. , they are an easy find also. Almost any TBI s-10/TBI truck/F-body will have them (that is if someone hasn't hacked the wiring harness to pieces). It only took me about 30min to swap from my HEI to the external coil one.
