Question for those that have their stealth ram already

are there any vaccum ports on them or do you have to drill and tap and make your own?

they are machined into the back of the plenum where it isn't very noticeable

you can tell in the other thread with the picture of it on a 92Z and Doug also says it in that thread

thanx man, hey I guess I can ask you maybe you know, how exactly will I go about getting rid of my EGR, my stealth ram should be coming soon. Is there any chance of my still passing emmisions without it, or will I have to know someone.

in my experience ditching the EGR can cause some problems in some cars....it varies

i ditched mine and didn't have a problem

the EGR doesn't do too much with emissions ONCE the car is warmed up.....so make sure you make the car get hot before the fans come on (factory fans dont come on until 225*), maybe about 200* and you shouldn't have a problem passing......now if they do visual tests, that is a different story

I just recently got rid of my EGR in preparation for the Stealth ram. To do it properly you need to edit the chip. Disable the EGR diagnostic, which will keep the SES light from coming on. You also need to set the EGR enable temp to 255 or else your tuning might be a little off. (Due to the ECM trying to subtract EGR flow from the MAP.)

I gained a knock problem after I removed it which was expected, I'm still working on tuning it out with the spark tables.

I've heard of people passing just fine without it. I passed with mine stuck part open, actually.

*anxiously awaits the Holley box to arrive*

synapsis can you tell me more about doing what you mentioned with the egr . I removed mine and sometimes get a check engine light and it runs rich at times. Can you set me in the right direction for redoing my chip. I am also looking to upgrade to the stealth ram... My 305tpi has worlds 305torquer heads and a comp nitrous cam 262/280---462/480 any help on making this combo work would be appreciated
Thanks

In the Tunercat software (the only software I have experience with) the first two selections under "Tables" are what you want. Under the first menu item (I forgot what it's called, something like Flags), it'll open another window which will have EGR Diagnostic checked. Uncheck that. The second menu item under "Tables" is "ECM constants". In that window look for EGR enable temp, and set it all the way up to 255 counts.

The EGR diagnostic change will get rid of your SES light. The EGR enable temp will give the ECM a more correct reading for MAP (if your car uses it, I don't know MAF bins). You have a different cam than the ECM expects, so it'd be best to tune for that as well, but I have no clue how a cam changes anything in the ECM. So your best bet would be to read up on Traxion's prom burning article (check the PROM board for the link) then start searching the PROM board for more info specific to your changes.

A couple years ago when my car was closer to stock, I removed all the EGR stuff, put a block off plate on the intake, and then shoved golf tees into the EGR solenoid. I never had a problem with it that way either.

Just a cheaper alternative to making it work.

I did that initially, but then I started detonating constantly. My knock retard was 2-4 degrees during cruising, and 7 degrees on acceleration. Since I was already doing chips by that point, I fixed the egr enable temp which actually got rid of some cruising knock, but I'm still tuning my spark tables.
