slp runners vs stock base Intake flow

I have a set of slp runners and I was just wondering if they will really help. I already cleaned up the top of them and plan to cut the plenium to match but, will the base really hold me back? I know it is not ideal for max flow however the runners should help out right? the only thing I did to the base was I cleaned up the major casting slag in the runners when I first installed the 350 I don't wan't to pull the lower intake off yet, I will do that when I get some heads and then port it.

The runners sure won't hurt you, but the stock base is (in most people's eyes) the biggest restriction of the stock TPI system.
For how easy it is to change runners, if you have them, use them. If you're planning on pulling the heads / intake down the road that sounds like a decent plan.

Port your stock base and it will be fine.

This guy is in the 11's with a ported stock base and LTR's.

A more important question would be, how fast would he go if he ran an aftermarket base? Just because a car runs pretty good with a weak part does not make mean it wouldn't be faster with better parts. And i question 120mph with that little cam anyway, either that car is VERY light or it's another one of those cars that Jesus must have touched because that is cooking.

Anything is possible with weight reduction, and vettes start out lighter anyway, but i still don't think a freak vette running good et with a stock base with g<x>od knows what done to it on an otherwise MILD combo proves anything. It's not like there is a question of an aftermarket base flowing more, or having MUCH more meat to port.
