IS this normal.....w/in
IS this normal.....Or if not what would cause this to happen..
wENT TO SET MY timing...the car seems to die when the ESC is disconnected....Well then I noticed something wierd....I start the car...It runs for a second so I run to the front of the car to check timing with the light....THE car then DIES.....As im standing there the FUEL RAIL THEN CLICKS on as If I just turned the ignition to ON yet I had not....It had been on because the car was running and then died....Never touched the key....
So I then wiggle wires around and nothing happened BUT if I rotated the distributor just a little bit the rqail would charge again...I could turn the thing and make the fuel rail charge up... Definately seems like a problem to me....
Ive been fighting a miss for a long time and replaced practically everything...Im wondering if Im on to something with this..??

Check your Ignition coil or Ignition Module. I suspect that when you unplug the timing wire (for lack of a better term), timing is controlled by the distributor and related components alone. I had the same problem and it turned out to be a bad coil, however a bad ignition module could cause a similar problem.
Hope I was helpful,

Do you mean the primary coil???? I do not suspect that the ignition module is bad...Reson is that I put a brand new distributor in....MSD Pro billet one... I guess the module could be faulty But maybe Ill try the coil first..... Happened with my old distributor as well...Seems wierd to think that my old distruibutor would do this...then old dist wityh a new module then a new distributor...Ill try replacing the coil;..I have a few of them laying around anyway...

Well I tried swapping coils, Then tried swapping complete distributors and NOTHING....I dont know what to even try next... I think Auto Trader is the answer...Ive been fiughting varoious ignition problems for over 2 years now...The hobby is no longer fun for me.......
have you looked at the injectors if you have a constant miss maybee one is not firing or is not getting the signall to fire if you can get the right tools. I'd isolate the cylinder by eliminating spark and then check the signal with a noid light then do a presure drop on the injectors.

After you get a new transmission you can jack it up like a mother and go beat some rustnags.
