LT1 injectors on L98 ?'s
LT1 injectors on L98 ?'s
I have a set of LT1 injectors that I plan on installing in my L98.
The question is this:
If I use a 24# injector, I will have to run them at a lower pressure to obtain the same flow. This will affect the spray pattern and the fuel atomozation negatively, right?
Will this swap be worth the effort? Who has done this and how did it turn out?

There was an old post about this, not worth it. the post said something like the L98 runs rich to begin w/and adding bigger injectors will only make it worse on a stock car. Plus you have to reprogram the chip for the #24. I also thought about doing this b/c u can pick up those injectors pretty cheap used and mine are shot but after reading the post, i said the hell w/it.
Yes you would need to run them at a lower pressure and yes the
lower pressure would degrade the spray pattern some.
If you have a stock engine stay with the stock injectors. After you
do some mods to warrant a bigger injector you can install them.
Personally right now I have a stock 350 with a 95 Z28 cam profile
and am running 19's at 52lbs. I chose them for the spray pattern
that a high pressure would provide. I have done some messing
with watching spray patterns at different pressures on injectors
out of the car and it is amazing what high pressure can do.
Higher pressures really turn the fuel into a fine mist while lower
pressures tend to cause them to dribble and spit actual drops.
