code 43: with a different question
Guys I need your help bad...
I have looked under search for about an hour and still nothing.
My problem is I have the code 43 that I know a lot of you guys have had. It comes on after I crank it after its on for 10 seconds whether I'm parked or start to move it. I tried desensitizing the knock sensor as suggested with the 3.9k resistor. But the SES light continues to come on. I replaced the wire that goes from the knock sensor to about 12" back since it was burned a little. I just spliced that wire and ran another one. Still the same. But the wierd thing is I can unplug my wire that goes to the KS and it will do and run the same way. If the sensor was bad wouln't the resistor fix it?
If not the sensor then what????????????
By the way my car runs ok but I think it is running a little weak and got worse gas mileage last tank.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Also...
If I hook up the resistor right at the ecm to eliminate the idea that the wire is shorting out somewhere between the sensor and the computer, how do I know which wire on the back of the ecm is it??? I think there are 5 brown wires.

Since I was the only one replying to this topic I guess I will answer the question too. I found out that there was a short in the wire somewhere since I hooked up the resistor at the ecm and the SES light went off...
