Fan Switch

Does a 86 camaro with tpi and a single fan have a fan switch between cylinders 6 and 8? Cause mine doesnt. But my 85 TA with tpi and a single fan does. Also on the 86 the water temp gauge is in the water pump but on the 85 its in the drivers side head. I would like to know cause my fan in the 86 isnt turning on. Thanks

Your CTS (coolant temperature sensor) Should be in the head.

I'm talking about the fan switch and the water temp gauge sender. My cts is in the front of the intake.

you should have the switch between cyliders 6 & 8. I would check to see if you have the wire that plugs in to the switch hanging around. My fans ran all the time when my fan switch was bad. If it's not coming on I would replace the coolant temp sensor or the fan relay. As far as the gauge sending unit, I've never heard of screwing them into the water pump. Just don't use teflon tape on that sending unit, it grounds to what its threaded into.
