burning out EGR

I have a '87 iroc 350 tpi ttop. Had starting problem, found out that it was the EGR Valve. Have replaced EGR, but am now burning out the EGR's. Have replaced fuel filter, MAT, coolant temp, rotor cap, wires, plugs, and EGR solenoid. Need help in figuring out what is burning out my EGR. Thank you.

Whats burning out? the valve or solinoid?

I am burning out the EGR valve. Some people say it's because I'm running lean but what would make the engine run lean? any ideas?
