I have a 87 GTA 350 L98
1)are L98's 2 or 4 bolt main caps?
2)can i remove the vacume canister by the battery tray without having problems. It doesn't seem those vacume lines do anything important.

 

on my 86 TA, I have removed the smog pump, charcoal cannister, and egr lines that run across the exhaust and the car still runs fine. as for the engine having 2 or 4 bolt mains, I'm not sure on that. I do know that if it's the original engine, it should be a 1 piece rear main seal.

Do you have emmisions testing in your area? Do you htink you may have testing in your area in the next few years or might move to an area where they have it?

I believe the canister your referring to is cruise control related.
