Changed Sparkplugs (88 Iroc 5.7)....has 7mm wires on it!

Changed Sparkplugs (88 Iroc 5.7)....has 7mm wires on it!
Aside from the pita it was to change the sparkplugs out (w/ air tubes in the way 
) I noticed that the sparkplug wires are 7mm.... I was like wtf 
! Those must have some resistance...... I'm gonna change those out quick for a set of Taylor or MSD 8mm or 8.5/8.8. Stock arn't they suppost to be 8mm anyway? The dude I bought the car from must have put those on, I see that as the cheap way out, dude niglected(sp?) the car by putting those wires on

I think these are taylor wires though....the dude decided to not chip in the extra money and get 8mm wires.... all I can get around here anyway are 8mm anyway...... what was the guy thinking?
