Who has had a bad EGR...and what were your symptoms?
My 89 GTA threw a code about a year after I bought it,and I had no idea what to do,so I took it down to the Chevy dealer and they hooked it up and said it was the egr,and egr diagnostic switch.I brought it home and sprayed a little Top engine cleaner up into the egr and worked the diaphram up and down a few times, and it hasn't thrown another code since....
Other than running a little rough,it didn't do anything out of the ordinary......

If it gets stuck open, your engine will run extremely rough when it's cold, and will be very hard to start cold. When mine went it wouldn't even start unless I had the timing at 40*BTDC.
The reason for this is that the heads don't have enough heat in them to burn off the excess exhaust gasses that are intrested to into the combustion chamber.
Anyway, it's easy to swap, and you can get it at any parts store for around $50.
