serpintine belt years?

hey guys i was looking in the junk yards today for a replacement motor for my 87/ 89 camaro(drive train and computer is 89 body 87) and was looking at a couple of motors that were supost to be out of 87. 89and 89. all of these motors had multi belt setups on them.heres my question ?didn't all tpi cars have a single serpintine belt set up after 87 . aslo i thought fire bird valve covers were silver and camaro covers black? thanks scott

From: Everett, MA . USA
Car: 89 FORMULA FIREBIRD, 86 CHEVY CAMARO
Engine: L98, LB9 RESPECTIVLY
Transmission: 700 R4 (BOTH)
Starting in 1988 alll v-8 f bods got the serpentine belt.

Another tip off would be the cold start valve, 89 and up did not have one, it would be located on the drivers side intake manifold between the two sets of runners.

On my 89' bird the stock center bolt valve covers were black.

The valve covers in my 86 Z28 are silver.

Hope this helps.
John
