Opinions on cam for my 305
Opinions on cam for my 305
I am rebuild the 305 in my 92 B4C and wanted to know what you all think about 2 cams I am looking at.
First the motor is getting bored out .030, pocket porting the heads and gasket matching the intake. It has headers and cat back on it and I can burn my own chips. Its a 5-speed car with 3.42 gears in the rear end.
The 2 cams I am thinking about getting are both from comp
Cam 1 XR258HR
206 212 480 487 110
Cam 2 XR262HR
212 218 487 495 110
The car will have to pass emission testing, I am thinking that cam 2 may be a little big. The car will be my everyday diver for about a year so it needs to get good gas mileage.
So what do you think, anybody running either cam?
Thanks guys

The first will act like stock, not too much different besides a 1.6 rocker swap except thats more lift than you'd get from doing that. The second will idle and run fine, I've run a 212 intake duration cam on a 305 and it idled and ran quite well.
