'92 305 TPI to a 350 HELP!!!!!
I want to do a Motor swap '92 305 TPI to a 350, and I need some help deciding if I should keep the 305 just bore and stroke and keep away from the computer problems or swap to a 350 and do the computer stuff. If I do that I could get into some money problems. I would like to kep the TPI but I need the power, some tips and hints would be greatly appriciated.thanks, Jhnboy9
Why do you need power? I'd save your money until it won't be a problem. Just so you know, a 350 would be cheaper than stroking your 305, and you'd need some tuning with your stroker 305 anyhow.

What do you mean "Why do you need power?" anyone knows what power you have is not enough. Anyway will I need to change the computer and/or sensors or just slap in the 350 and pop in the sensors and a new chip or is there a S!@T load of mods I'll have to do??

I did this same swap last year on my 91z28. i got a 350 crate engine from GM.I replaced all the sensors since they had 160K miles on them and needed changing anyways. Plus its a good idea if your swapping anyay. I put a 350 prom from the dealer in place of the 305 one and added an Ed Wright stage 2 piggy back chip to it. put 24lb LT1 injectors in. Put new fuel pump in. basically all you have to change to get it going is the chip and injectors and the knock sensor. The TPI's are all the same. If you need any other questions answered just email me.

no necessary mods to do except get a new chip. Its basically a pull out and put in operation. You might as well change the sensors since you have he motor out. Also swap the injectors to atleast the 22lb. the 19lb will work but not well if you want max. performance.
The computer is easy just swap out the chip for a 350 chip, install 22 or 24lb injectors, and most say swap out the knock sensor but I've been running my original for almost 3 years now.
My intentions were to change everything to 350 plus have t-tops. Make the same as the hardtop L98s.
