What to do to lower ETs
What to do to lower ETs
Hey
I have the 1/4 mile times in my sign. I want to get that number around the 15.5 range (14.7 corrected). What mods should I do to get there. I have some mods planned that will be on the car late July. Do u think this will be enough.
Hooker Headers Hoooker Catback K&N filters AFPR
Either a Airfoil or the Corvette Servo
Do u think those mods will get me into the range I want to be in. If u have any other ideas for mods that I can do that arnt to costly please mention them....Thanks

iroc cragg, you have about 320 post and are a senior member. I am sure you have read many tech articles here about getting your ET down. Do a search and see what mods can be done on the weekend in your driveway. There are over a dozen easy mods and listing them all for you is pointless when we have them listed on the site.

Yeah, I have to agree..... The info is all on this site, just gotta look for it. There plenty of articles on all of the free mods and a few on doing more extensive mods as well as countless threads on what to do when... Gotta use that search function!!
Totally not a flame, but rehashing gets old.
But I would definately look into doing the CAI mod with the "Home Depot" ducting that goes from the fog lights up to the filters..... If you do that mod right and seal up the ducts so it pressurizes the intake at higher speeds you should easily shave a couple of tenths off of your ETs...... I personally witnessed a guy with a stock L98 IROC (Flowmaster catback) drop 2 tenths and pick up 1.5 mph with that mod. I watched him cut up the air boxes and put the ducting in, in between runs..... and he didn't even have it sealed! Man, most of us would kill for something like that on a Pontiac!!!!! (Course, I did come up with something pretty good on my GTA
.... involved cutting open the battery tray on the right side and having a friend build a sheetmetal box that a 9" conical K&N lives in. )

from your sig. I would recommend getting a exhaust since I didn't see it in your sig. I would get a set of headers and do the ram air setup since you have a camaro. Those three combinations should get you into your territory. Try lowering your tire pressure in the rear, your 60ft time is kinda high. and don't get the airfoil, it was the biggest waste of money I had ever spend. I would rather spend the money on a synthetic oil change and probably get more power of that then the air foil.
