Throttlebody bypass on 85-87

For the last hour, I've been fighting with my coolant hose and all I got was a pile of thrown tools and a flattened brass coupler. What I'm trying to do is run a single hose from the heater core to the nipple on the front of the intake manifold. I cut the stock piece that went from the manifold to the TB and used the 90* portion of it with a brass coupler to connect to the long hose. Problem is, there's no room to do any of this with the alternator bracket a damned inch from the nipple. Has anybody managed to accomplish what I'm trying to do?

Yep. Sorry, no pics. I just ran a line thats draped over the top of the alternator bracket between that and the bellows, and then back to the heater. I dont remember having problems attaching the hose to the intake.

I just did it to my 87. I got a piece of hose with a 90* in it. I ran it over the alt bracket and thought for sure once I put the tb back on it would be pinched. all said and done the tb lays on the hose some and flattens it a little but not enough to restrict it. I through tools to but be pacient and you will get it.

I did it on my 86. I bought like 5-6 feet of 5/8ths hose, I ran it over the top of the alternator bracket. I found an old electrical bracket and bolted it to the alternator bracket. I think you can find 'em at home depot for like 50 cents.

Tomorrow I'm going to rummage through the hoses at Advance Auto to see what I can come up with. I'll keep everybody up to date.
