86 or 87
86 or 87
My friend just bought a 1987 Z-28 305 700r4 its a LB9
The question.. I thought 87 and newer had center bolt valve covers his is perimeter. Am I correct in assuming its a roller engine?
His engine bay is a disaster area!
the previous owner butchered the wiring and vacum lines. It's gonna take months to sort it all out. On the up side it's the strongest runnin 305 i've seen. He can keep up with my 350 untill about midway thru 2nd gear. but that'll change when i get to hook up off the line!

Well, in this case, I'd take the casting numbers to www.mortec.com to find out exactly what is really in there. If it is an 87 it should indeed have centerbolt valve covers. That along with the condition of the engine bay point towards an engine swap. So it's impossible to say what is really there without checking the casting numbers. Good luck, hope that helps at least a little.
