Porting Stock intake with SLP runners?

I am wondering what type of gains can be achieved by porting my stock intake like MadMax did? I was considering putting on a accell superram or a miniram, however, the cost is a bit much! I have slp runners and ported the plentum to match and now have been thinking porting the base. Will I get comparable results to a superram by porting the stock intake base as MadMax did ??? I know that the mini ram and the super ram have much shorter runners than the stock set but my rpm max is about 5400 rpms?

I was in a position where I could either wait for the right intake for my combo, Or I could do something with my stock intake to get the car on the road to have something to play with over the summer. So I took my stock TPI and ported/siamesed the base. Granted SLP runners would be a nice edge, but with what im running now, Its obvoius my intake is holding me back pretty bad. I also have an LT1 intake, the thing cost me pocket change and even came with the injectors, FPR, TB, everything. It cost me less than what some stock TPI bases are going for. I'm about half way done with the LT1 modding, and as soon as the other half Is done I'll need to route the coolant lines, find a remote distrib, and drop it in. I'm possitive the gains are going to be tremendous especially with the 200cc heads I'm running. Maybe since money is tight this is a direction you should look at as well??

Anyways regarding the stock siamesed base, it gained me a few rpms, Lost a bit of low end, really isn't that impressive at all.

tpi_roc, I do not want to push my rpm's up much more. I have a paxton sn2000 and my max rpm is 5700 rpm's. I do not know what to do to put a lt-1 intake on to my l98? I have afr 190 street heads with the egr cross over passages. Where could i find info on the lt-1 modifications? I know that the lt-1's have a reverse cooling, anything else? distributor location?

Any info would be greatly appricated!
