code 34 and a curious observation with my scan tool

Today my GTA decided to spring a code 34 on me. This irritates me because very recently I put in a new MAF, new power relay and a new burnoff relay. I hooked up my auto x-ray and the MAF g/s was right at 8 at idle and seemed to be behaving properly, but every once in a while, it'll flash 0 g/s very quickly then be back at 8. The SES light seems to come on consistantly every time within a few seconds of starting the car. Drivability and idle are normal. Any ideas?

not to my knowledge, but anybody that has followed my 4-year saga can attest to my karma.

But... no code on the way to work today.

I hate chasing intermittant problems.

I have seen a false code 34 due to low battery voltage during cranking. Replaced the battery and never had a problem again.

I get that stupid code about half the time I first start my car up. If I turn it off for a minute and start it back up, it won't come on again.

Hmm. I suppose the battery voltage thing could do it. My car cranks for ever before it fires sometimes. (That's another problem that I haven't tracked down yet). It just struck me as odd that it happened for the first time in months, and did it on 3 consecutive starts. The quick dips to 0g/s kind of surprised me too.

**Drivability and idle are normal**

And your complaint IS ?

LOL.......

.....sounds like your livin' right dude...... you're one of the "lucky" ones.

Aside from a possible PROM or ECM glitch I vote the battery and/or alternator quirk.
