305 to 350 swap need help
I have a 1984 corvette 350 engine. I want to swap it into my 86 iroc-z and keep my tpi. What would I have to do to swap it in. Would I have to have the block machined or would I have to have the manifold machined or would it bolt right up. And what cam should I use.
You can email me at camarochic33063@yahoo.com
Thanks a bunch:lala: :lala:

You might have to oblong the four center bolt holes on the intake (I'm not sure if it was 86 or 87). Get a knock sensor for a 350. Buy an AFPR if don't already have one. Not sure what you want to do w/ the car, but the stock TPI is a good temporary fix. If you want more power (which I think you will) then look into the stealth ram or a modded LT1 intake.
The swap is fairly easy. Good luck.

motor swap
the only thing u will need to change is the map sensor....... the intake will bolt right up but u need to use the distributer of the 86 to get it to run right. and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator isnt a must have.... will help the motor to not lean out on top end but your car is a MAF sensored car so it will correct most of the problems..... then just call and get a chip custom burned the best place i have found is street and performance they made me a stage 4 burned prom and was to every spec i had...... so it will help u alot.......

so will the knock sensor mount on the block? And since i have an 86 the manafold should bolt right up, Right. Will I have to change the heads? Thanks a bunch:lala: :lala:
From what I have read, the knock sensor should just screw into a block drain hole. Your intake will fit without a problem. Cams...well...that's a little more tricky. Is that a roller cam motor? I don't THINK it is, but I am not sure. If it isn't, I wouldn't try to convert it. The performance difference is negligible for the $$$ involved with the conversion. As far as cams go, see if you can't snag Grumpyvette's attention. I have seen him post once in here, but he is a moderator over at www.chevytalk.com. (performance forum) and probably easier to snag there. There are some knowledgable people in this forum, but in my mind Grumpyvette is the BEST when it comes to a cam recommendation.
