no start prob

after my TA has been running for a while in hot weather and i shut her down, when i try to restart it does nothing. fuel pump primes and everything works but the car does not start. after about twenty min. she will fire back up no problem. the starter is new and has done it in the past with previous starters. i have edelbrock headers that generate a lot of heat next to the starter. am i getting heat sink in the selenoid? if so, will some type of heat shield prevent this?

Don't even mess with a heat sheild part of problem is all the juice running through the solenoid after car is started.

Check the tech articles for "Hot Start Cure and Remote starter Switch".

Do that mod which will cost about $6-8 bucks for a Ford starter solenoid. It'll take all the ignition voltage running through the solenoid and route it through the Ford solenoid so the starter solenoid never gets too hot.
