Starting Problem Please Help
I have a 1992 Z28 350ci TPI and when I go to start the car it has to crank for about 10 seconds sometimes before it will finally turn over... ?? anyone have any idea about this?? someone was telling me maybe it's a bad relay?? but which one?? and where do I find it to replace it?? this problem is really aggrivating when I'm trying to start the car b/c sometimes it will take a couple of tries before it will start up... I just replaced the starter in it (the old one died on me) and I have a feeling this long cranking time is killing my starter again so any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
Are you giving the fuel pump enough time to prime the system? You should hear it whine when you first turn the key to the on position and then go quiet when the engine is ready to be started.

I had the same problem with my 85 T/A. I found that the fuel pump wasn't getting a good 12v. power supply. I ran my own power source for it and it fires right up. You might want to check it out. The plug is right behind your rear seat under the car. The power wire should be Pink.

Seems like we are all having starting problems. How many miles are on your car? Can you smell any kind of gas? When was the last time you did a tune up?
