did you try to turn on the fan that does not work manually? if so, and it still didn't turn, did you try spining it by hand? sometimes the brushs' tend to stick if they sit to long without comin on.

thanks

I spliced into the white wire that goesto the passenger side cylinder head. Then i put that wire to a 2 pole swithc, grounded it inside the drivers compartment to have manual control over the #2 fan. Easy! It will take you 15 min MAX and about 5 bucks for the swich and the wire.

When the engine is warm try turning on the A/C the second fan should come within 30 sec. Does it come on? The fan motor may be bad.

I read somewhere that one fan is controlled by the ecu, and the other is controlled by a temp switch. The one controlled by the temp doesn't come on till the car gets to 220*. Is this correct?? if so, which fan is which? I need to look and see what my fans do at different temps. I do have a 160* thermostat and chip. I am going to wire one of the fans to a switch, so I can turn it on even when the car is off. I do have some overheating problems when the car idles for a long time in hot weather.

Yes this is right, the one controlled by the ECM is on the driver side of the car.
