how many sensors are there (and what/where are they) on an '87 Formula w/TPI 305, 5 speed that would cause detonation if they went bad? so far i have replaced the following
knock sensor
MAF sensor, still a wiring problem though (could this cause detonation?)
MAF burnoff relay (still doesn't work though, my new MAF has NEVER been in burnoff mode!!)
O2 sensor
oil pressure sending unit (i know this wouldn't cause it, just wanted to be thorough!)
ignition module
ignition coil (with MSD Blaster)
i am just wonderin what else could cause this problem? ive just about eliminated the problem, but it still occurs on occasion, if anyone could help, id appreciate it. thanks in advance guys!

 

Your base timing is twice the factory base timing, this will cause problems.

 

ok, we'll go see right now. im going to reset it now. but this bothers me because now i will lose performance. all the TPI's that ive seen that truly hauled @$$ had timing of at least 11 deg or more. PM me in about 15 mins, ok?
