Found results, but dont understand whats involved with the dash in an LG4 to TPI swa

I searched and found a few results on the topic, but i dont really understand them. I just need to know what has to happen with the dash wiring to convert my LG4 to TPI. I will have a donor car to take everything off, its and 86 T/A. the only problem is that the dash wiring is all hacked up, so i dont want to use the dash harness. btw they are both autos, my Z28 is an 85. I found a diagram by john millican (dont know where it is now though) but i dont understand a single thing about it. from what i understand, doing a few re-pins is possible, but what has to go where??? Thanks for any help, I would like to get this project rolling ASAP

In your case U might be better off buying the Painless wiring harness for the TPI conversion. The wiring from painless takes the confusion out of the swap.

i dont want to do that, so here I am trying to research it. I have the required electrical knowledge, I've wired up many things in my car with no problems. I also have the ability to troubleshoot electrical problems. I just dont understand electrical diagrams. I've wired up many 4 wire relays before with no problems, but if I look at a diagram showing how someone else has wired one up, I'm all confused. My point is, if someone could explain what has do be done I'd be able to do it, so here I am asking...
